David Harbour is truly a man of his word. If you've tuned in to Netflix's Stranger Things, you know him as Jim Hopper, chief of police and beloved father figure in the spooky fictional series. But offscreen, Harbour has created another reputation for himself via Twitter, where he takes even the most absurd fan requests to heart… if they reach a certain amount of retweets, that is. Last year, he agreed to take senior photos with one teenage mega fan if he surpassed 25,000 retweets. More recently, he promised to officiate a fan's wedding, and unsurprisingly followed through.

Here's the backstory: In January, a Twitter user named Ericka asked, "What would it take to get @DavidKHarbour to be the Officiant at my wedding in September?!" Hopper (er, Harbour) responded immediately, stepping up to the task only if he received 125,000 retweets… and as long he got the first slice of wedding cake. An understandable demand.

The Internet works in magical ways, and the Twitter sphere surpassed Harbour's goal in less than 24 hours, generating a whopping 138,000 retweets.

While Stranger Things fans may have forgotten about this viral escapade, Harbour did not. Nine months after Ericka's appeal, the actor seemingly got ordained and provided photo evidence (on Twitter, duh) that he followed through with his promise-all while dressed in Jim Hopper's police costume, no less (perhaps he came straight from filming… ). Posted on September 15, the photo showcases the bride, groom, wedding party, and Harbour standing in front of a floral-infused outdoor ceremony arch.

"Hey internet. I know it's been awhile. I retreated. Needed some space. You probably get it," Harbour tweeted with the photo. "But I've been thinking about ya in the interim. And all your retweets. And so me and some fun folks in Springfield, Illinois made good on our promise we made all those months ago." Eleven would be so proud!

We've definitely heard of stranger things (pun intended) happening in the wedding world, but props to Harbour for showing such dedication to his fans and squeezing this couple into his filming schedule. We can only hope he ended up actually reading an "esteemed love letter" and receiving the first piece of cake as repayment.
